For the last 20 years, I have been on the elusive journey to feed the mantra of ‘fooling the brain.’ Stereoscopic 3D has a fascinating way of making the mind believe, for a brief moment, that the image it is looking at is real. The depth effect of a 3D image gives it a realism unlike most images our brain processes.
When I approached Serc with this concept that Normies could become 3D by creating a second perspective twin, he was intrigued. I created my custom Normie, a punk rocker with 3D glasses on. This references several motifs and is also an ideal composition for stereoscopics, as there are levels of 3D built into the punker and the background that allow for maximum depth.
